With over a century of combined firm experience, HSA provides innovative and efficient design solutions that offer the newest thinking and technology for the future of healthcare delivery. HSA maintains a knowledge base of the leading-edge concepts used for healthcare delivery through active participation in the AIA Committee on Architecture for Health and attending healthcare industry conferences across the United States. HSA’s healthcare project experience ranges from physician-owned clinics to full replacement Acute Care Hospitals.

Our mission is to provide superior architecture through innovative thinking, exceptional design, and unmatched client service. We believe this is best achieved through staff continuity and the ability of our staff to wear “multiple hats.” Our working philosophy is to have the same project architect oversee all aspects of your project, from contract negotiations through to substantial completion with continued relations with the client.

The design philosophy of HSA can best be described as participatory design. We believe it is vital for the design team to clearly understand the client’s projects operational requirements, functional needs and future goals. This builds consensus among project participants, who are then ready to move forward in a common direction. HSA believes this is most successfully accomplished through “work sessions” that include the close collaboration of administration, user groups, architect, project engineers and other consultants. We include the project engineers and consultants early in the programming and schematic design discussions to utilize their experience with issues that may affect the design, budget or schedule, and to help propose ideal solutions.
